Last week Kelly and I attended the premiere of Brooklyn's Finest. I must say.. (other than meeting Julianne Moore) this was my first wow moment. Kelly was thrown onto the red carpet and the flashes were blinding! Usually I avoid the cameras successfully but there was no hiding. I honestly don't understand how these beautiful people have beautiful pictures of them taken in such chaos. You can't blink, yawn, sneeze, slump... all of which I managed to do in the background of Kelly's pictures that are now floating out there on the web (lesson learned.. keep eyes open, don't slouch, and wear tight clothes to avoid looking like a complete mess). Other than seeing the cast in person, I must say that hearing Ludacris quietly add his own lyrics to a song during the movie may have been the thing that made this night such a wow night for me.
Kelly always tries to explain how each experience that comes her way is never taken for granted and always welcomed with open arms. She is always gracious. We sat there last Tuesday, laughing about how crazy it was for us to be sitting in the same room as those people. For me I understand how crazy it is, but to be laughing with Kelly is just another reason I'm thankful for who she is!
I'm no movie critic but Brooklyn's Finest was a wonderful film. Violently raw, this movie hides nothing and portrays the hard lives led by many.
Get queasy at the sight of blood? Pass on this one!
