I try not to drink too much because when I'm drunk, I bite. ~ Bette Midler

Per usual, Martha Stewart Living's July issue is filled with beautiful images and delicious recipes.
The Basil Gimlet Fizz grabbed my attention - the perfect drink to help freshen up Austin's steamy afternoons. I can't really complain though, the weather in Austin has actually been amazing... mornings  (early mornings) are usually in the mid 70's and although the sun sure does beat down later in the day, I know it could be a lot worse!

Basil Gimlet Fizz

Seedless Watermelon
10 Basil Leaves Torn + More for Garnish
1 Teaspoon Sugar
1/2 of a Lime
1 Ounce {Tito's} Vodka
3 Ounces {Topo Chico} Soda Water/Seltzer

Cube half a watermelon into roughly1 inch cubes. Freeze in a single layer for at least one hour, over night being best. Place 8-10 basil leaves in the bottom of your glass and muddle with sugar and a splash of seltzer. Squeeze in juice from 1/2 of a lime, add vodka, the remaining seltzer and stir.
Add frozen watermelon cubes and garnish with Basil.

Enjoy!!
