Is it over already??
This Thanksgiving was our first Thanksgiving in California. Not technically the first one away from our families, but the first one alone together in a new place. And I have to say, it was pretty lovely. I would have liked to have been with my family and catch up in person, but it was really nice to have those four days of quality time.. And I can't believe those four days flew by so quickly!
Have you ever cooked with fresh cranberries? I grabbed a bag of fresh berries at the store on a whim and then decided to dry them myself for the cornbread stuffing.. probably won't do that again but it wasn't too hard to do.
The poblano cornbread stuffing by the way, was pretty delicious.. you can find the recipe here.
We spent a morning at the driving range
With red holiday cups in hand. The season is officially here!
We walked around the bay.
Did you know that it's actually on top of a landfill? You have this beautiful little space.. there's art, there are people out and about with their dogs and bikes.. then you realize the hill you've just climbed for this view is all because of waste and then you turn around and the power lines are tangled above you, the towers are huge and hovering. It's really a weird thing.
The french press was brought out
And more walks were taken.
It was pretty perfect.
I hope you had a nice holiday weekend with your family, friends and loved ones!
