One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating. ~Luciano Pavarotti and William Wright, Pavarotti, My Own Story

Mini things are just adorable.
Mini converse, tea cup pups, mini boden, micro pigs, terrariums, mini ipads, mini people... you get it.

So, if I were to plan a party right now, it'd be one where all food served was bite sized. Now, here I go on my rant.
The food would actually be bite sized.

There is nothing worse than being at an event and you're starving, so you've piled up all the cute little hor d'oeuvres on your tiny little plate and realize that with wine in one hand and this plate in the other you're stuck just staring at all of your food. Then your friend walks up and wants to introduce you to so-and-so but you have no free hands and you look like a total mess [or pig, but let's go with mess] as you say hello and give an awkward shrug because it's obvious you don't have anyway to shake hands. You finish the conversation and excuse yourself. You finish the wine and ditch the cup (reluctantly) so you can actually have a hand to eat with because this slider has been just sitting there and your mouth has been watering so you take a bite, but there is no way to fit the entire thing in your mouth and now you have that delicious thousand island sauce all over the place and, oh no, here comes another so-and-so that you really need to introduce yourself to AND... ugh you get it.
If only you had food that was actually bite sized!!!! So I'd have a party with one bite goodies.. seriously ONE bite.

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Remember these crystal bottle toppers?

I found the idea over on Camille Styles' blog during the holidays and couldn't wait to get my hands on pretty crystals to make my own! The only problem was, I couldn't seem to find any cheap options in New York.  As soon as we arrived in Austin, I knew a quick trip to Nature's Treasures was in order. For less than $35 I was on my way to making 7 new crystal bottle toppers.. $5 a pop? Yep, I promise.

{You can find the step-by-step tutorial here

Here we have my finished toppers!
Of course I ran straight to the liquor cabinet to find pretty bottles to stick them in.

Ta-da!!
I think these toppers will be the perfect way to add a little extra color and sparkle to our {one day soon} bar cart. Thanks Camille for the inspiration!
