Meet Jennifer Low of Wanderlust + CO & Enter to win a GIVEAWAY!!

I'm beyond excited to share with you my interview with Wanderlust + CO's, Jennifer Low! This amazing woman travels the world, manages a business, designs an array of [affordable!] jewelry, and somehow still finds time for herself! I don't know how she does it but she's doing it well.. Wanderlust + CO is one of my favorite websites to browse for great jewelry; the options seem endless and you'll be sure to find that pair of stud earrings you've been looking for and the perfect dainty bracelet to add to your collection.. I'm warning you now, the site is dangerous!
But seriously, how does she do it?!

After working in Australia's fashion industry you decided to create Wanderlust + Co. What really pushed you to take this leap of faith and start your own company?
I've always loved fashion and all things to do with fashion, especially the business of fashion. The behind-the-scenes elements of it - the buying, planning, numbers and decisions behind what you see on websites and in stores, excite me! Being quite obsessed with quirky, beautiful things, as well as the business side of running a brand was what pushed me to kickstart Wanderlust + Co. I'm also a firm believer in how accessories, namely jewelry, can make a woman feel instantly more beautiful, and add something else to your daily repertoire without breaking the bank. Plus, jewelry does not discriminate - it doesn't matter how old you are, what size you are, or whether you are seven months pregnant... there is something about a sparkly new find that makes the wearer feel good!

Currently you live in Malaysia, tell me about the inspiration that surrounds you there, I can only imagine!
I spend quite a bit of time in Malaysia and that is so very wonderful as I am close to the manufacturing hubs of the world being in Asia. It certainly makes it much quicker to go from an idea or concept, to a finished sample. Truth be told though, my husband and I travel quite a bit, and we still spend a lot of time in Australia, so I guess I am fortunate to be able to draw inspiration from all the amazing cities we spend time in.

Describe to me the Wanderlust + Co lady..
The Wanderlust + Co lady is someone who loves herself and those around her, adores beautiful things, and appreciates the fun, simple things in life. She wants to look and feel beautiful, but doesn't want to spend too much time fussing over a look. She loves jewelry and fashion - and appreciates pieces that are easy and quick to wear, and will suit how she looks and feels for that day. She is a dreamer, a doer and an explorer!

I love that your pieces are affordable. I could create an entire 'arm party' and not completely break the bank! For the budget conscious girl, what sites would you suggest for online shopping?
Thank you for saying that - that is such a compliment as we do set out to make lovely things at prices that would work for most. Makes layering and stacking pieces on much more realistic I suppose! I personally love our Wanderlust + Co pieces for accessorizing of course. As for clothing, I can't go past Zara and ASOS, and with homeware or other bits and pieces, I would hit up Etsy as well as Anthropologie.com.

Your one piece of advice when it comes to accessorizing..
Don't overthink it. Pick a color, material or hardware that you're feeling for the day or for the moment... put that piece on, then layer other things around it. The general rule is to keep to one statement piece, and to layer on other pieces that accent the statement piece. If you're not rocking a statement piece for the day, then I love a good arm party, petite rings, a classic, staple necklace, and quality stud earrings.

What's your favorite way to unwind after a hectic day?
I love having a play with my dog, Chloe. She's a toy poodle and is incredibly affectionate, gentle but a psycho all at the same time (especially during play time!). Adore catching up with my husband about our day over a bottle of red wine, and/or a Hendricks Gin & Tonic with cucumber. Also addicted to Voluspa candles - my favorite scent is Saijo Persimmon which is a subtle yet bright, happy scent that makes relaxing at home and switching off work, all that much easier after a long day!

What's your style when it comes to interiors? Describe your dream home..
My dream home will be cosy and have lots of love! :) Interiors on the other hand... I'm a fan of clean, open plan spaces with a strong neutral base of whites, greys, beiges and wood colors. I prefer to inject color in a space via homeware and decorative pieces, so I can chop and change things up every few months without too much effort. Also love using wallpaper to completely change the personality of a room. My favorite interior designer is Kit Kemp - she manages to keep things contemporary and current, without drawing away the soul of a space... keeping it very cosy and warm.

A color palette you're always drawn to?
Mint green, hence the Wanderlust + Co color! Adore gold accents on accessories, and obsessed with a soft grey marle where a neutral palette is necessary.

You're a jet-setter.. Top five things you never travel without and favorite bag to throw them all into?
This is an easy one! My Kate Spade toiletries pouch with all my skin care and make-up, SK-II face mask (it works instant miracles!), Repetto ballet flats for the airport and all that walking, oh and my iPhone and MacBook air of course - to keep on top of work and everything else. Everything then gets packed into my Samsonite four wheel spinner - you can't feel the weight of the bag's contents at all, it just glides along!

I must say that one of my favorites on the site right now is the hook-leather bracelet.. it's simple enough to throw into my daily group of bracelets yet unique enough to wear alone.

Guess what? It can be YOURS!!

All you need to do is..

To send a letter is a good way to go somewhere without moving anything but your heart. ~Phyllis Theroux

If you follow blogs on a regular basis, I'm sure you can relate...
There's one person out there who in your mind, just gets it right. Their style is unique and after reading their Monday post.. the one that catches you up on their weekend or their Friday post that wraps up their favorite five things, you feel like you could really be their best friend. It's kind of a creepy thing, I know. But, I'm sure you can relate... right?!
Well, Mattie Tiegreen is a fellow UGA alum and someone who I really believe just gets it right. Her infectious personality shines through not only on her blog but her through her designs for Puddleduck Paper Co.
By now I'm sure you know how I feel about hand written notes, BUT - There's something so special about them.. whether it's the obligatory Thank You or sweet note to just let someone know you're thinking of them, they're really hard to beat in the days of emails and text messages. Mattie seems to agree, Puddleduck Paper Co. has some of the most adorable stationary - you'll want to send out all sorts of notes and cards!
So - it absolutely makes my week to tell you that Mattie agreed to a little Q&A and help me with my FIRST GIVEAWAY!! Read on and see how you can win a box of 8 cards from Puddleduck Paper Co.! And Happy July!!
Hello, there! I'm Mattie, the designing force behind Puddleduck Paper Co.
I'm a small-town Georgia native, an addicted coffee drinker, wife to a brilliant man,
and a creative free spirit. What a treat to be here!
A big thank you to Jessie for having me.

Coffee or Tea?
Coffee! 3 times a day. I'm a Kuerig lover but when I'm feeling like an
extra treat, I hit Jittery Joe's, the coffee house on our street.

Dawn or Dusk?
I'd like to lie and say dawn because it was so peaceful and quiet
watering my flowers that one time I got up that early. But, I haven't
seen dawn since. So dusk it is. On the deck with my husband, pups, and
a glass of CabSav.

Ice Cream or Frozen Yogurt?
Frozen Yogurt. Tangy Original with kiwi and granola. Try it!

New York or San Francisco?
San Fran, hands down. It's been my favorite city since I visited for
the first time almost 10 years ago. Reasons? Get ready. The Presidio,
Haight-Ashbury, The Fillmore. The weather, the people, the food. And,
the 45 minute drive to Napa.

Take Out or Dine In?
Dine in, for sure. On the patio at The National, preferably.

Wine or Beer?

Both! Francis Coppola Cabernet Sauvignon and Stella Artois.
Maybe in the same sitting.

Modern Chic or Rustic Vintage?
Both, again. I love the clean lines of modern design, but the textures
and warmth of rustic pieces.

Martha Stewart Living or Lucky Magazine?
Lucky, all the way. It's styled beautifully and the
within reach. But, MSL isn't bad on the eyes.

Glamping or Camping?
Camping. Real camping. No bathrooms, outlets, radio or grills. The resources are
climb-to-the-top-to-find-the-best-view-of-the-stars kind.

Summer or Spring?
Summer. We beat the heat with boat rides, camping trips, rooftop
concerts, cold beer and porch fans. And by the end, it has been just
hot enough to make me excited for fall.

Favorite Picnic Meal:
Caprese salad, brie cheese + crackers, fruit,
and lemonade. On a fabulous quilt, of course.

Favorite Brunch Drink:
A mimosa or three.

Favorite Font:

Favorite Paper Source:
1Canoe2
They are my letterpress muse.

Favorite Hideaway/Getaway:

On top of a mountain somewhere with no
cellphone service. But just for a few days. I love my routine.

Favorite Drive:
From work to home. Tree-lined streets and red-door-bungalows.
With the drive from SanFran to Napa being a close
(but not very often) second.

Favorite Summer Song:
Everything on the Ponderosa album

Favorite Summer Read:
I wish I could say. No time to read these days...

A typical day in your life:
Hit snooze.
Hit snooze.
Stumble downstairs for coffee #1.
Grab the essentials (laptop + camera) and head to work, which most days is nannying.
Play with the cutest baby on Earth.
Blog a little with coffee #2.
Email a few clients.
Feed baby.
Take a walk with baby.
Email some more.
Make my favorite drive home with (iced) coffee #3.
Settle into my office chair with a cold lemonade and a good playlist.
Make pretty paper.
Make dinner.
Enjoy dinner on the porch.
Blog a little more.
Hit the sofa with my husband and pups to call it a night.

What you love most about life is:
That I know I am right where I am supposed to be.
On days when schedules are crazy, bills are unpaid,
and laundry is dirty, I am still doing what I love most.

"Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise,
trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and
still be calm in your heart."
